Gagandeep Singh is the proud owner of Chargrill Woodoven Takanini and they are bringing Diwali to life in store this year.  Members of the north India Punjab, their culture celebrates the Diwali festival of lights with great enthusiasm.

As well as symbolising the victory of good over evil, each religion has different historical events and stories that they associate with Diwali.

The history is fascinating and very dear to Gagandeep and his family.  Sikhs particularly celebrate the release of the sixth Guru, Hargobind Singh’s release from prison in 1619.  This is also known as Bandi Chhor Divas.  Hindu celebrates the return of deities Rama and Sita to Ayodhya after their 14 year exile.

They are recognising Diwali in store on the 12th & 13th November with a traditional setup that will include lights and music, traditional costumes as well as goodie bags and sweets for the kids.  They will incorporate Indian flavours into their menu and there is a fantastic hamper to be won.

Please visit them and get a real taste of India and Diwali.
